Daily wear
- Put your necklace on last — after fragrance, hair products, and moisturiser.
- Remove before swimming, showering, and using cleaning products. Chlorine and harsh chemicals dull gold and can loosen prongs.
- Avoid contact with lotions and sunscreens where possible; they build up on the underside of the diamond and dim its brilliance.
At-home cleaning
- Soak the necklace in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap for 10–15 minutes.
- Gently brush the setting with a soft baby toothbrush, paying attention to the underside of the stone.
- Rinse under warm running water and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
Storage
Store your necklace flat in the pouch it arrived in, or in a lined jewellery box, laid out so the chain cannot tangle. Keep each piece separate — diamonds scratch every other material, including other diamonds.
